SUMMARY:Russian scientists visit Vietnamese Universities for joint research
DESCRIPTION:\nOn May 15-19, 2018, experts from the Moscow State University (Russia) paid the 1st working visit to the Vietnam Academy of Forest Sciences and the Vietnam National University of Forestry to conduct a research on the topic: “Study of soil erosion and desertification for soil conservation and sustainable use of soil resources”. The event was organized in the framework of the Russia – ASEAN Project “Research and Development Cooperation Russia-ACEAN on development and implementation of innovative agricultural technologies to increase sustainability of agro-ecological systems”. \n\n\n\nThe MSU was represented by Valery Demidov, Professor of the Department erosion and soil protection at the Soil Science Faculty, and Dina Karpova, Leading researcher of the Department erosion and soil protection. The Vietnamese side was headed by Vo Hai Dao, President of the Vietnamese Academy of Forest Sciences (VAFS) and Phan Van Khoa, Dean of Faculty at the Vietnam National University of Forestry (VNUF).\n\n\n\nDuring the visit, the experts from both sides had a chance to coordinate their scientific work and sign Memorandums of understanding between the faculty of soil Science of MSU and the Vietnam Academy of Forest Sciences and the Vietnam National University of Forestry. They also developed a program of scientific research in the catchment area “Suoi sap”, and traveled there to take samples of eroded and non-eroded soil for necessary analyzes.\n\n\n\nAs a result of the bilateral meeting, the experts decided to hold a training seminar at the Faculty of Soil Science of Moscow State University in August 2018, aimed at the development of the WOCAT program. WOCAT program will be used to assess the current land use of the catchment area, development and application of innovative agricultural technologies in order to improve the sustainability of agro-ecological systems. Both sides agreed that getting acquainted with the scientific achievements that will occur during the implementation of the work on the Russia-ASEAN scientific and technical cooperation project will enrich the scientific work of the participants. This will provide an opportunity for cooperation in future scientific, educational and commercial projects.\n\n\n\nSource: Moscow State University\n\n\n\n[et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ _builder_version=”4.4.2″][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.4.2″][et_pb_column _builder_version=”4.4.2″ type=”4_4″][et_pb_gallery _builder_version=”4.4.2″ gallery_ids=”3462,3463,3461,3460″ show_title_and_caption=”off” hover_enabled=”0″][/et_pb_gallery][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]\n
